Not All Dry Cells are Created Equal

You first want to know how many cells are in a Dry Cell Generator.

Here is an example of two designs that have seven plates. The first one has two 3 cell generators. The second one has 6 cells. You determine the number of cells by counting the neutral plates between the positive and negative terminals.

As shown previously, 6 cells are an optimum arrangement. Why then, do many units have less then 6 cells?

The answer lies in the very reason why Dry Cells are more efficient than Wet Cells. The only way to really create a perfect 6 cell generator is to
have six separate bodies of electrolyte. A Wet Cell has 1 body of electrolyte. A true 6 cell unit would have 6 independent bodies of electrolyte.
